AUGUST
28, 2006 --
This
is not a singer. It is Senator Charles E. Schumer speaking to the crowd
gathered on Central Park's Great Lawn, August 23, for a Metropolitan
Opera concert performance of Rigoletto. LPR heard the senator used
park property to attack Republicans for not spending enough tax dollars
on the arts. Of
course Mr. Schumer did not mention any political party or personality, leaving
the audience to decide whom he was referring to as "they."

This is not the UN flag. Among other things, there is no UN logo on the blue
field. For all LPR knows, it is another outdoor artwork -- this on Columbus
Avenue, at 85th street.

There is no
dress code at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, where Meryl
Streep and Kevin Kline are appearing in "Mother Courage." And
that is, uh, the
short of it, as indicated by these people waiting for the August 17th performance
to get underway.

This is not
a summer sculpture of motorcycles at McDonald's, on Torrington's
Main Street. These are active motorcycles -- even the small one
-- photographed in Torrington on August 22.
