The Official BSL Opening Day

MAY 29, 2006 --

Last week, the Broadway Show League celebrated its official opening day (although league play began May
11) with a first pitch thrown by Broadway stars and receipt of a check for fifty thousand dollars from Anheuser Busch.

The ceremony was held on Central
Park's Great Lawn, and featured -- from Tarzan -- Josh Strickland, Jenn
Gambatese and Shuler Hensley; Sutton Foster -- from "The Drowsy Chaperone"; Felicia Lindley -- from "The Wedding Singer"; and Patrick Wilson, who plays for Team Wedding Singer and was recently seen in "Barefoot in the Park."

Four years ago, Mr. Wilson and Mr. Hensley were teammates on the
"Oklahoma!" squad that reached the finals, losing to "The Producers." Last Thursday they were on opposite sides in the game between The Wedding Singer and Phantom of the Opera.

Tarzan does not have a softball team and Mr. Hensley apparently had his option picked up by Phantom during the game.

His first time at bat -- in two years, he told LPR -- Mr. Hensley got a single and went on to second base. LPR also saw Mr.
Wilson getting a single, going on to score a run in the game won by Wedding Singer, 9-5.
