Baseball and Seat-Belts

OCTOBER 10, 2007 --

LPR was outside Yankee Stadium October 2, but, because of a previously scheduled hearing for seat-belt violation, could only get the accompanying photos -- of Ron Guidry heading with manager Joe Torre to the ballpark, and of Don Mattingly signing autographs.

These images are from second copies of the prints. The first copies were submitted at the seat-belt hearing in support of this writer's defense that seat belts interfere, while driving very slowly in the vicinity of the ballpark with photo-taking. Those copies were retained as exhibits by the administrative law judge who recognized no First Amendment defense to seat belt violations. This writer plans to appeal.

BTW -- LPR predicts that Joe Torre will retire as Yankees manager if the team wins the World Series.

LPR also predicts that Joe Torre will step down as Yankees manager if the team does not win the World Series.

And LPR predicts a Yankees management reshuffle in the off-season, although the shuffling might not mean the departure of all members of the current management team.

Note to LPR Clicksters:

These reflections were written severals days before the report that New York Yankees boss George Steinbrenner would not renew Joe Torre's contract as Yankees manager if the team lost the best-of-five division series to the Cleveland Indians.

LPR has a hunch, in view of the three straight
victories, in the National League division playoffs, of Colorado over Philadelphia, Arizona over Chicago, and, in the American League division playoffs, of Boston over Los Angeles, that team owners will push
for best of seven in the division, as well as the league championships and World Series.
(Return the World Series to the best of nine game championship it once was ?
