SEPTEMBER 11, 2005 --

LPR got these photos before the game between the Yankees and Red Sox, September 11. This West Point honor guard posed for LPR before it presented the colors at the start of the game.

LPR also happened to get a photo of Jason Giambi, with Derek Jeter. Giambi's home run was the only score as the Yankees defeated the Red Sox 1-0.

And LPR got a photo of a broadly smiling Mariano Rivera. Did he have an idea he would save the game for starter Randy Johnson?

Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield (left) shown with Jason Varitek was outstanding despite the loss, striking out 12 Yankees. In front of Yankee Stadium, flags were at half-staff, in tribute to the victims of 9-11.
