When Are Republicans Going to Fight the Party of the Big Lie?

June 19, 2021 --

Charlie Spiering at Breitbart, June 16, noted that at a press conference after his meeting with Russian President Putin, President Biden lied by strongly indicating that Trump protesters at Capitol Hill, January 6, killed a Capitol Hill Police Officer. (The only person killed at the Capitol, January 6, was the unarmed Ashey Babbitt, a Trump backer.) This lie called to mind Biden's lie when he announced his presidential candidacy, April 2019, that President Trump had complimented white nationalists and Neo-Nazis at the Charlottesville, Va. demonstration over a Robert E. Lee statue, August 2017.   As James S. Robbins, in a USA Today opinion piece, April 26, 2019,  reminded, Biden, announcing his candidacy, declared, "'we are in a battle for the soul of the nation.'"  What kind of battle for the nation's soul, that is to say, for the good of the country, is fought using falsehoods as battering ram against patriots committed to the truth.

The Robbins column quoted President Trump's remarks on Charlottesville, and they specifically excluded neo-Nazis and white nationalists from "the fine people" who demonstrated, pro and con, over the Robert E. Lee statue.  Nevertheless, Biden blithely lied to the American people to persuade them to conclude that Mr. Trump was a supporter of anti-Semites and white supremacists.

And the major media outlets serve as megaphones for Biden's Big Lies.

Isn't it past time when Republican members of Congress spoke out against Biden's Big Lies, rather than denouncing Mr. Trump as Sen. Mitch McConnell did after the melee at the Capitol, January 6?

Business Insider, January 19 carried this headline: "Mitch McConnell blames Trump for deadly Capitol riot."

How will Republicans ever learn to stand up to Biden's Big Lies when the Republican Senate leader rushes in to join the Bie Lie assault on Donald J. Trump?

The Biden Big Lie premise is that it is Trump who lies all the time, when the truth is that the lies all come from the left side of the political spectrum, and media anti-Trump propagandists like George "Speciousopoulos" on ABC News carry water for the Big Liars on the Sunday morning tv anti-Trump propaganda broadcasts.

Elise Stefanik and Jim Jordan must take the lead in organizing a Republican Fact-Checking Task Force to call attention to the attention of the American people Biden's Big Lies -- and the Big Lies of the Democrats, generally -- plus the media's mendacity.

If all of the people are not to be fooled all of the time, all of the people must have access to the truth and they sure are not going to get the truth from any Democrat or any of the left's media lap dogs

What is disheartening through all of this is not the lying propaganda put out by Biden and his handlers -- we can expect nothing else from them but lies and cheating in the pursuit of absolute power.  What is disheartening is the fact that not only do Republicans fail to make an effort to counter Biden's Big Lies; they are more likely to outdo the left in tearing down their own -- as, for example, in the matter of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Abraham Lincoln stayed with Gen. Ulysses S. Grant, in the face of lots of anti-Grant criticism, for a reason explained in two words:

"He fights."   When will the 80 million (cq) voters for Trump, in 2020,  be able to say of the GOP:  "They fight"?
