A New "Big Three"?

June 19, 2019 --

In late May, , some media sources reported that the national security chiefs of Russia, the United States and Israel would meet in Jerusalem later this month. Reportedly the topics will include the Iran threat to Israel --Russia has influence with Iran, and the matter of U.S. withdrawal from Syria. After the meeting was announced, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he had proposed formation of a trilateral committee to Russia President Vladimir Putin and President Trump to discuss Middle East security "and both of them agreed." Mr. Netanyahu added, "This is unprecedented."

LPR believes that the fact of this meeting points to the positive relationship between the Israeli prime minister and the Russian president, as well as to the strong ties between Mr. Netanyahu and President Trump. The principals at the scheduled meeting are John Bolton, for the U.S., Nikolai Patrushev for Russia, and Meir Ben-Shabbat for Israel. Thus far, House Democrats are not protesting this Jerusalem conference as further proof that the Trump administration is encouraging further Russian meddling.
