JUNE 4, 2004 --

Highlights of the games the Thursday before the Tony Awards included the bottom of the seventh wins that LPR witnessed. The most impressive back-against-the wall win had to be Wonderful Town, over Wicked, scoring eight runs in the bottom of the seventh to win 15-14.

Lion King defeated Blue Man Group, in the bottom of the seventh with Lion King pitcher Tom Thoon scoring the winning run. And as LPR stood with camera at the Phantom/Sly Fox - De La Guarda game, suddenly that game was over with the slide shown in the accompanying photo.

The Boy from Oz won its first game of the season, cheered by cast principals Stephanie J. Block and Michael Mulheren, defeating I Am My Own Wife, whose pitcher, Linda Rowland, made her first appearance of the season, coming back from injuries. Linda's husband Bill is the Wife third baseman.

LPR photographed Tony nominee John Cariani as he was waiting to get into the game for Fiddler on the Roof, losing to Embedded/Labrynth.

Next week, LPR plans to carry a viewing outside the event feature on the Tony Awards.
