Bus Treed In The Bronx

APRIL 18, 2007 --

Late in the April 15 afternoon , with the day's rain continuing, LPR heard what sounded like a thunderclap, soon learning that the sound was caused by the
collision of an express bus with a tree standing between Henry Hudson Parkway, in The Bronx, and the service road.

Emergency personnel reached the scene
quickly and immediately got to work to extricate the driver, who appeared dazed.

Next morning, the only hint that an accident had occurred at the site was the stump of the tree that perhaps kept the
bus from going onto the highway with even greater dire consequences.
