LPR Proprietor Announces Candidacy
Zukerman Begins Write-In Campaign to be
Next New York City Public Advocate

September 28, 2009 --

Lonely Pamphleteer Review proprietor David Zukerman has declared his write-in candidacy to be the next Public Advocate of New York City.

Mr. Zukerman, in an exclusive interview, told LPR that he is "committed to lighting the public advocate office with the glow of America's founding spirit. Speaking with Mr. Zukerman at his Bronx apartment, early Sept. 25, LPR noted that that the dark apartment did not suggest any sort of glow. Mr. Zukerman explained that Con Edison surprised him with "a sneak attack, " cutting his electricity on Sept. 24. He told LPR that he intends to provide service to the people, not cut service.

Mr. Zukerman said that he doubts the other candidates in the public advocate race have had the grass roots experiences he has endured. "I wonder if they have any idea what this job is all about," Mr. Zukerman added.

He said that he strongly disagrees with candidates who say the job should be geared at improving the city's economy.

"I think I am best qualfied because I see the public advocate as a Federalist 57-kind of position--aimed at bringing officials and citizens closer together, and, in particular, at protecting the citizenry from rough treatment arbitrary callous even unjust treatment."

"From a public utility like Con Edison?" LPR asked. "And Verizon. too," Zukerman said, pointing to a phone, barely visible in the candle light of the living room. "That is also disconnected," Zukerman explained -- "just like too many officials and bureaurats today."

LPR will closely follow this interesting race for the next few weeks. Election Day is November 3.
