Put Me in Coach

SEPTEMBER 3, 2008 --

To change the metaphor, LPR feels like the atheist, this campaign season – all dressed up and no place to go. The Washington Post recently noted that a multitude of blogs are supporting Senator Barack Obama. Seeing that report, LPR could only think – “uh, Sen. McCain, could you look this way? LPR is not hostile to your candidacy.” Matter of fact, clearing out the apartment in preparation of a move made necessary by LPR’s failings, LPR happened across a carbon of a letter sent to Newt Gingrich, March 1992, predicting that President Bush would not be re-elected and urging Republicans to pick another candidate (this writer suggested Jack Kemp).

Apparently there is a certain law of politics: individuals will not be heard unless they contribute big bucks to the pols – or are paid big bucks to advise the pols how to fool the people. LPR has concluded – as to itself: seldom in the history of American politics has so obscure a citizen been so on point and been so ignored.
