1)  On word that Attorney General Barr opened a criminal investigation into the origins of Russsia-gate:

"The opening of a criminal investigation  is likely to raise alarms that Mr. Trump is using the Justice Department to go after his perceived enemies."  (Oct. 25.)

2)   On word that an American special operations raid resulted in the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr-al-Baghdadi:

"[According to unidentified intelligence and military officials]. Mr. al-Baghdadi's death in the raid on Saturday...occurred largely in spite of, and not because of, Mr. Trump's actions."  (Oct. 28.)
