Cherry-picking by the Democratic Counsel

November 19, 2019 --

During the November 15 testimony of former Ukraine Ambassador Marie L. Yovanovitch before the impeachment inquiry conducted by the House Intelligence Committee, Democratic counsel Daniel Goldman made several references to the transcript of the July 25 phone conversation between President Trump and President Zelensky.  Those references included this remark from President Trump: "Well, she's [Amb. Yovanovitch] going to go through some things." Counsel Goldman did not quote from the statement that immediately preceded Mr. Trump's comment.

That statement was from President Zelensky who told Mr. Trump, "It was great that you were the first one who told me that she was a bad ambassador because I agree with you 100%.  Her attitude towards me was far from the best as she admired the previous President [Poroshenko] and she was on his side. She would not accept me as a new President well enough."

There then followed President Trump's reply, beginning, "Well she's going to go through some things."
