The New York Times, December 13, reported that President Trump has reached out to Professor Dershowitz to help with the Senate phase of the impeachment against him.  LPR would advise the president not to retain an unwieldy legal team for the Senate trial. 

LPR believes the "Obstruction of Congress" will immediately be tossed by the Senate because it is really an obstruction of constitutional rights accusation.  That leaves the "Abuse of Power" article, which states the false charge that Mr., Trump sought Ukraine's help to get re-elected, next November.   LPR could see Prof. Dershowitz providing an eloquent summation why the Democrats' first article of impeachment is a call to the Senate to agree that the United States has been ruled by an authoritarian and illegitimate president since January 20, 2017.   

With an eye to the future, Prof. Dershowitz should demolish this  mean-spirited effort  by Democrats to demolish a president properly elected pursuant to the U.S. Constitution.  The alternantive?  Political chaos whenever opposing parties hold the White House and the House of Rrepresentatives.
