Citing an observation about Hillary Clinton from Ross Douthat

November 5, 2016 --

Mr. Douthat, in his New York Times column, October 23, had this to say about Secretary Clinton:

"The dangers of a Hillary Clinton presidency are...the dangers of elite groupthink, of Beltway power worship, of a cult of presidential action in the service of dubious ideals. They're the dangers of a recklessness and radicalism that doesn't recognize itself as either, because it's convinced that if an idea is mainstream and commonplace among the great and good then it cannot possibly be folly."

LPR would point out that Mr. Douthat, like all New York Times columnists is very, very, very opposed to the presidential candidacy of Donald J. Trump.

LPR will withhold comment on the election until after the election -- that is to day, until after we know the result -- but will here express the thought that the mindset of the left and the Never-Trumpers smacks of a counter-revolutionary mindset.

(LPR thinks it makes a lot of sense for the Never Trumpers to move into the Democrat fold.)
