In honor of the announcement that Gustavo Dudamel will, in 2026, become music and artistic director of the New York Philharmonic,. LPR here links to the conclusion of Falla's "Three-Corrnered Hat, with Maestro Dudamel leading the Berlin Philharmonic, December 2012 -- when he was 30 years old and with considerably longer hair than at present, at age 42. The sound quality of this video could be much better, but observe the dynamism of this remarkable artist.

Also, LPR would suggest that as Maestro Dudamel comes to the N.Y. Philharmonic from leading the L. A. Philharmonic, finally, the loss of the Dodgers to L.A. (and the loss of the Giants to San Francisco) is avenged.

Lincoln Center does not have to wait three years before Maestro Dudamel leads the Philharmonic. Having already led the orchestra 26 times since his 2007 debut in New York, he is scheduled to conduct the orchestra in May, with Mahler's Ninth Symphony.

Bernstein on Rhythm…

Surfing for Dudamel conducting Three-Cornered Ha, LPR brought forth one of Leonard Bernstein's TV programs on bringing an understanding for music to young people -- and their parents. This program was sponsored by Ford. If anyone is going to bring back this wonderful tradition of instructional music programs, Maestro Dudamel is the LPR's nominee for this important task.
