Miles from the Mainstream

A personal message to Carl, the pro ethanol small farmer who called Mark Levin's radio program on December 14.

December 19, 2015 --

Thought you should know that your call to Levin has prompted me to suspend Levin from my radio listening for at least the next three months, effective immediately.

This is not the fist time I decided to tune Levin out, but on previous occasions, I soon relented. Levin seems to have a habit of abusing listeners who disagree with him. (Isn't that a leftist trait?)

I once heard Levin become apoplectic when a caller said that American troops in Germany were an occupation force. On another occasion, I heard Levin threaten to punch out a caller who, prior to the threat, insisted that he respected Levin.

I would also note that Levin seems to bask in adulation, being so very cordial to callers who tell him how great he is.

Moments before Levin took your call, I heard him ridicule CNN's Wolf Blitzer for his first name. (This from someone who pronounces his name not as "leaven" but as leh -VIN! (including exclamation mark). I thought that was particularly rude.

Then, during your call, when you said you disagreed with him on one of three points -- concerning your pro-ethanol views-- Levin turned on you, constantly interrupting to keep you from making your point and succeeding, as I heard the tone of your voice, in making you very uncomfortable.

This is not to say I agree with you on ethanol -- indeed I have no idea what those views are, due to Levin's badgering of you. It has become apparent to me, from indulging on personal and family matters, as well as from his chats with callers, that the man has developed a severe hubris problem. Don't let him discourage you. All good wishes.
