Requesting the impossible:
Honesty from Eugene Robinson,
not partisan quackery

March 5, 2022 --

Mr. Robinson is a columnist at The Washington Post which means he has problems with accuracy in commenting.

In his March 4 column, in a Ukraine context, he wondered what would have happened had Biden lost the election.

For Mr. Robinson, the likelihood that Putin would not have invaded Ukraine is a non-starter. He also lauded Germany's Chancellor Olaf Scholz for increasing his country's defense spending, without pointing out that President Trump had been roundly criticized by leftists like Robinson for demanding that NATO members meet their commitment to spend 2% of GDP for defense.

That Robinson is simply a partisan hack is underscored by this invidious question from him: "Or what if the Jan. 6 insurrection had succeeded?" That was no "insurrection." The proper question: what if the 2020 election were not tilted in favor of leftist chicanery?
