LPR preferred the opening card of former governors Mike Huckabee and George Pataki and Sen. Lindsay Graham and former Senator Rick Santorum, December 15, to the main event -- the round of nine. For a while, it seemd to LPR that moderator Wolf Blitzer was encouraging face-offs between Senators Cruz and Rubio, and Jeb Bush and Donald Trump that took up much too much time, turning candidates Carson, Christie, Fiorina, Kasich and Paul into a de facto second tier.

LPR advises the candidates to demand a four-person limit in a round-robin series of debates -- as long as there are as many GOP presidential candidates as there are players on a basketball squad. LPR further advises GOP candidates to stop all their intramural back-biting.
