Gas Price Watch Becomes Interesting

FEBRUARY 12, 2006 --

LPR was in Torrington, Connecticut, February 8 and noted with interest that
regular at the Winsted Road Mobil was $2.36.9 -- 10 cents lower than the week before.

LPR also noticed this price at other Torrington gas stations.

Staying overnight, LPR, the next day, saw that regular had gone from $2.36.9 at a Shell station, to $2.29.9. This prompted LPR to check the February 9 price at the
Winsted Road Mobil. Regular was now $2.33.9, also down from the previous day but not as low as the Shell price.

Yet, right in front of this writer's eyes, at about 10:40 A.M. the price of regular at the Winsted Road Mobil suddenly became $2.29.9, too.

This price is only about ten cents more than regular in New Jersey, on February 10. And 42 cents lower than the Amoco gas station in The Bronx that sold regular, February 10, at $2.71.9.
