Gas Price Watch

MARCH 19, 2006 --

LPR was in Torrington, Connecticut, March 15 and 16 and a bit disappointed to see that gas prices where higher than the previous week.

Early in February, LPR was at the
Winsted Road Mobil station when the price of regular was lowered from $2.33.9 to $2.29.9. March 16, LPR saw the price of regular at the Mobil station on East
Main Street, near the southbound
ramp to Route 8, go up four cents, from $2.54.9 to $2.59.9.

In less than two months, prices in Torrington have gone up thirty cents -- more than ten percent.

Earlier in the week, oil company executives were called to a congressional hearing about oil prices. Is their answer to Congress and to the people still higher prices?
