Gas Prices

NOVEMBER 20, 2005 --

LPR, in Torrington Connecticut, November 16, noticed that gas prices are still getting lower.

At one station, Gulf regular was even a trifle below $2.10 a gallon. LPR is, however, not impressed with calls in Congress for "windfall profits" taxers on the oil companies.

Members of Congress seemed, at least to LPR, kind of quiet when the gouging occurred. And the media seemed kind of quick to offer rationalizations for the gas price spike.

LPR is left to wonder how oil companies would have justified higher prices if we were not hit Katrina (which also seems to have become another excuse to hurl gibes at the White House).

Does the Saudi King listen to Rush Limbaugh?

Yahoo carried a headline
November 19 stating that the
King thinks oil importing countries ought to cut taxes.
