The Third Annual LPR
"Gates" Retrospective

MARCH 3, 2009 --

LPR continues its tradition of posting some images of "The Gates," the artwork by Christo and Jean-Claude that brought the color of orange to Central Park, attracted New Yorkers and visitors to the park -- and probably did more to get people to purchase digital cameras than any other single event.

The images posted here are a few of the hundreds of images LPR snapped during the official two weeks of "The Gates" and the following two weeks of their removal. LPR is likely not alone, photographing hundreds of images of "The Gates"-- in fair weather, snow and rain; standing erect, in files--straight and curving. LPR would note that Shana (1989 - 2006) admired this artwork and, watching when the last of "The Gates" was taken down, March 11, 2005, was sorry to see them go.
