Beleaguered Consumers

OCTOBER 1, 2007 --

LPR opened a the current HSBC credit card statement and noticed that the bill carried an interest rate of 32.24%.

Enough is enough.

Is there no bar association, media outlet, good government group willing to take a stand, today, against the "ambitious sacrifice of the many to the aggrandizement of the few" that is reflected in today's outrageous credit card interest rates.

The silence of the left on the oppression of credit card interest rates suggests for LPR that the left knows very well to be silent -- when push comes to shove, that is, when the the push from the moneyed interests turns to shoving the people who remain, Hillary Clinton notwithstanding, "invisible" to the pols who feed at the trough of campaign contributions.

LPR predicts that today's economic excesses -- including rising consumer prices, as well as crunching credit card interest rates -- will either turn the US economy into a wasteland, or lead to a new political force committed to the freedom-living spirit of the nation's founders.

Michael F. Geoghegan, chairman of HSBC USA (and you other heads of credit card companies) -- tear down your oppressively usurious credit card interest rates.
