Is irreverence still allowed
or has it become hate speech?

MARCH 3, 2009 --

Mark Twain, as noted before in LPR, once wrote: "Irreverence is the champion of liberty and its only sure defense." Following Twain, if irreverence is out of favor, haven't we lost our liberty?

Wall Street and Washington should medicate their anxiety/depression before
they fear-monger the country into another Great Depression.

U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) calls for a Truth Commission to probe Bush administration "abuses" without fear of criminal prosecution -- unless individuals refuse to talk after given immunity. Wait a minute -- if there will be no prosecutions, why any talk off immunity? Does Senator Leahy accept the "presumption of innocence" legal concept as to Republicans?

Truth-in-labeling would require liberals to acknowledge they support all forms of diversity except diversity of thought.

Anyone know what rights to privacy liberals support other than decisions on abortions?

Isn't it curious that liberal talk radio apparently cannot compete with conservative talk, yet Republicans in Washington, D.C. and the northeast cannot compete with Democrats? Would things be different if Rush, Sean, Mark Levin, Lou Dobbs, Ann Coulter et al. gained public office?

Fed Chairman Bernanke: Will you stop commenting on the economy if I confess to causing our economic problems by complaining in LPR about officials who are distant from the people and ignore zooming gas prices and predatory credit card interest rates, among other things?

Isn't it interesting that some of the predatory banks are said to have lost lots of money and were taken over by other banks? For example: where is Washington Mutual now?

Don't the pleas from major companies for "bailouts" really mean that companies that did not make money from voluntary consumer purchases now demand forced payment from the taxpayers?
