The voting machines in New York City

Not only are antiquated; they're not even pretty

levers for voting too often get jammed

leading to concern about being flim-flammed

And consider the plight of the write-in voter

compared to whom yon traffic agent, a smirking gloater

With hand-held gadget a summons issues with ease

Will the slot for write-in open? First get lots of grease

O New York City, so Gotham so green

Urbane and so knowing, functionally keen

Towers ascending that are starkly lean

Why do you refuse us a new voting machine?
