"Holly"

NOVEMBER 20, 2007 --

LPR attended a q and a following a screening of this advocacy film in Manhattan, November 10.  At the q and a, Guy Jacobson, producer, along with Adi Ezroni and Amit Kort; Guy Moshe,  director, said he decided to do the film after learning about child prostitution -- based on child-sale or abduction -- on a visit to Cambodia. Ron Livingston (Office Space; Band of Brothers), plays Patrick, an American intent on rescuing Holly (played by Thuy Nguyen).  The film has been screened at the United Nations.

The accompanying photo shows Guy Jacobson and Thuy Nguyen listening to Somaly Mam, a Cambodian woman who suffered the forced prostitution portrayed in the movie. Earlier this year, Ms. Mam established the Somaly Mam Foundation to combat the scourge of child sexual slavery.

An article about her travail appeared in Glamour magazine, written by Marianne Pearl, widow of the murdered journalist Daniel Pearl. Ms. Mam was named Glamour woman of the year in October 2006.  LPR asks its clicksters to google "Somaly Mam"  and "Holly" for more information on this vital issue.
