The 8th Semi-Annual NYC Home Film Festival was held on May 30
and 31 at the Coda lounge. Festival founder Greg Segal told LPR that 160
submissions were
received, a record for this festival founded four years ago.
The jury was comprised of John Gallagher, John Sawyer and Adrienne.
And they voted Real Magic, directed by Gil Levanon Grand Prize winner as best
film.

First runner-up was
Pitch, directed by Ian Gelfand. Second runner-up was Happy Now, directed
by Frederikke Aspock.
The jury voted Robin Taylor (Pitch) best actor and Diane Massey (Real Magic)
best actress.
The jury also cited A Cigar at the Beach for cinematography.
The festival audience had a different take on the festival offerings. The audience
picked Pitch, best film, with Sounds, (directed by Nick J. Palmer) first runner-up
and Real Magic second runner-up.
The audience agreed with the jury on Robin Taylor as best actor, but selected
Renata Hinrichs, Happy Now, best actress.
LPR luminaries spotted at the festival included Laura Fay Lewis and Veltis Hanrattan.
