Norman Lloyd, for LPR the  Dr. Auschlander of "St. Elsewhere" died, May 11.   In an obit highlight, The New York Times, May 13, noted, 
"Working with some of the biggest names, though his own name was barely known."

Was the Times trying to be ironic?   While the highlighted comment referred to the name "Norman Lloyd," the Times kept hidden the fact that Lloyd, at birth, was Norman Perlmutter, born to  Jewish parents. 

Please google "Norman Lloyd" for the Wikipedia article on Lloyd, including a reference to his Jewish identity that The Times appears to have airbrushed.  He was 106 years old when he passed away.

He acted in movies into his late 90's, and was also a producer and director.  LPR is convinced, from his portrayal as Dr. Auschlander, that he would have been a marvelous physician.
