Images Now -- Observations Later

JUNE 19, 2007 --

LPR offers some photos, now, with observations later, not likely to be found on the mega-websites.

Perhaps this is because those websites have about as much interest in the Squeezed Class as do the usual
suspects in the established media.

Accordingly, LPR clicksters here will find a photo of the Bronx roadway named for Leonard Jerome, maternal grandfather of Winston Churchill because this photo indirectly led to a seatbelt summons.

This LPR photo shows the tree-lined view down Jerome Avenue near Yankee Stadium …

To get the photos of a Bronx tree getting sawed down, LPR double-parked in a wide part of Johnson Avenue in The Bronx.

Entire tree down …

And the City of New York thanked LPR for its interest in the tree removal with a $115 summons, given, perhaps, by the agents who drive about in this car looking for vehicles to ticket, while perhaps enjoying
a PVB license to...double park. Please note, too, the City of New York "hospitality certificate "on the window of this touring bus from Massachusets, parked near Battery Park.

George Noory -- could it be possible that the sage counsel found in in The Federalist Papers is ignored because today's political and economic insiders
believe our Founders were visitors?

Broadway Show League

Old Timers Day will be celebrated July 28, in Central Park. Please follow this link to the league's site for details.

LPR here offers images of Atlantic Theater Company in a pre-game huddle, a few weeks ago, and a team picture of Pirate Queen.

The New York Yankees

If you would like see catcher Jorge Posada looking like a broken-field runner or Mariano Rivera staring down as he sees a motorist outside Yankee Stadium, please see the accompanying images.

A 45th Reunion

LPR was on the Brandeis University campus, weekend before last, for his 45th class reunion. More on this
next week.

For present purpose, LPR would simply note that Supreme Court Justice Louis
Dembitz Brandeis seems to be going out for a football pass in his sculptured
image on the campus that carries his name.

Darryl Strawberry

LPR got the image of a smiling Darryl Strawberry at a ceremony calling attention to the to the re-opening of
the Bronx Paradise movie house, now called Utopia Paradise. More on this remarkable symbol of the rival of The Bronx next week, too.

Penny Marshall

LPR spotted Ms. Marshall outside Tavern on the Green, in Central Park, June 7.

Only a few weeks ago, LPR carried an image of the jacket indicating that this
native Bronx-ite was a strong Yankee fan.

From the LPR Archive -- This photo of Penny Marshall (Bronx Bombers jacket) was taken Wed evening -- May 23.   LPR spotted Ms, Marshall hugging Jason Giambi after the game.  (Alas, LPR's camera did not apparently.)

On seeing her June 7, LPR wanted to inform Ms. Marshall that her image was being seen on LPR. LPR was not permitted to approach Ms. Marshall, outside Tavern on the Green, and accordingly just shouted the news to her.

Evening at Lincoln Center

LPR happened to be at Lincoln Center, recently, the evening of a fund-raiser for the New York City ballet.

LPR noticed that a crowd was convivializing on the balcony, with a young woman in strapless white evening dress just below.

Accordingly, LPR pressed the shutter.

Continued disappointments …

Road conditions in NYC, and the continued economic assaults on motorists from the aggrandizing class.

A hole in the Bronx …

Perhaps someone will yet protest the squeeze on motorists on grounds that it is taking advantage of undocumented day laborers, in the US of A..

Still -- don't forget the insight of Mark Twain …
