AUGUST
10, 2007 --
A
number of the images presented in this edition of
LPR are related to
Yankee Stadium. The first image, however, is of the
great stadium's successor, taken by LPR, last week.

Dramatic
view of Yankee Stadiums present and future …… |
LPR
does not know if the configuration of the new ballpark, when
completed, will allow an image of the "The
House that Ruth Built" standing, magnificently,
behind the new ballpark.
LPR did hear a rumor, last
week, that our Yankee Stadium will not long survive
after its successor becomes the home field of the New
York Yankees, in 2009.
LPR asks mainstream media -- where are you in
reporting the end of Yankee Stadium?
The photos of Tyra Banks were taken July 31. Ms. Banks
was at Yankee Stadium shooting a video, LPR believes.

At
one point she pretended to stumble and LPR got the image.
August 4: LPR got a photo of Cynthia Rodriguez, a few
minutes after her husband, Alex, hit his 500th home
run. LPR also photographed A-Rod and Mrs. Rodriguez,
as they left the ballpark, after the August 4 game
against Kansas City.

(As
LPR was not inside to photograph A-Rod's 500th HR, LPR offers
this image of
the Mets' Shawn Green hitting a home run to best the St. Louis Cardinals, 2-1,
in 11 innings, June 25.)

Dennis
Davis (LPR file photo) |
LPR thanks Dennis
of Academy buses for making the storage bays of his lead bus available
as vantage points for photogs -- and LPR also thanks NYPD Captain
Kastner for agreeing to this terrific photog vantage point for images of Yankees
leaving the ballpark, including this photo of Mariano Rivera.

The New York Post
recently reported that Yankee boss George Steinbrenner seems to be
seriously ill. Daily News columnist Mike Lupica criticized the rival
Post for its intrusiveness.
|
The
silent Steinbrenner Mobile … |
LPR believes the
issue should be settled with full disclosure from the Yankees on
the condition of the tempestuous Boss George, whose silence now is indicated
by the inactivity of his New York car, seen
recently by LPR in the Yankees' parking lot.
The image of the sun, setting on the current ballpark was taken by LPR August
3. For LPR, the selection of Yankee Stadium as site of next year's All-Star game
is hollow tribute at best.

A
Yankee Stadium sunset … |
The
world will know, as that game is played, that the sun is, indeed,
setting on Yankee Stadium, and MLB, shamefully, stands by a few
months later, as the wreckers' ball puts an end to "The
House that Ruth Built."
