JUNE
19, 2006 --
LPR continues to get visits to the January 2, 2005 report on the
Jerry Orbach funeral. To anyone who responds to one of the accompanying
photos by saying: "That's not Peter Bogdanovich with Dominic Chianese
[Uncle Junion on "The Sopranos]" -- LPR agrees. The person with
Mr. Chianese is Jeffrey L. Gurian, perhaps as close to a modern Renaissance
person as we have in the US, not Mr. Bogdanovich.
LPR would ask Comcast Search to take note because the photo is number 233 in
your Peter Bogdanovich file and if anyone from Comcast Search had asked if they
might use the photo, LPR would have pointed to the erroneous identification and
suggested that the photo should, instead, go to the files for Mr. Chianese and
Dr.
Gurian.
LPR has just learned that Jeffrey L. Gurian is not only a comedy writer and filmmaker.
He is also an assistant clinical professor at the NYU College of Dentistry and
had been in practice for many years (calling to mind the fictional dentist, in
the Comden-Green-Styne musical "Bells Are Ringing, "who wanted to be
a songwriter).
He is also a spiritualist/healer and Eastern producer for National Lampoon radio
-- and is working on Richard Pryor Jr.'s one-man act, and writing a book about
his years as writer for the "roasts" at the Friars Club.
Don Imus should definitely put Dr. Gurian on his radio program when the book, "Filthy,
Funny and Totally Offensive: Jokes So Dirty Comedians and Entertainers Only Tell
Them to Each Other," (Kensington Press) is published
Clearly, in terms of being a current-day Renaissance man, Jeffrey L. Gurian is
the real thing.
To learn how real, LPR refers clicksters to one of Dr. Gurian's websites: www.15minutesmagazine.com.
LPR apologizes to all for the mistaken ID and is, to borrow a NY subway euphemism, "sorry
for the inconvenience."
