Just wondering…

March 5, 2020 --

If, say, Israel Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu can meet, regularly, with Russia President Vladimir Putin, why can't President Trump also meet with the Russian leader?

Also, if Democrat U.S. Senator Chris Murphy can meet with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, and even give the Ukraine head of state direction as to which American he can meet, why is it impermissible for President Trump to send an emissary to meet President Zelensky?

(After all, FDR used Harry Hopkins as personal emissary during World War II.)

Where in the Constitution does a self-described "rank-an-file senator" have more authority in foreign relations than the U.S. president?

And by what authority did Sen. Murphy, along with former Secretary of State John Kerry and other Democrats, meet in Munich with the fluent in English Iran Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, a senior official of an enemy state.

(Or, for Murphy, Kerry and the Democrats, is the enemy President Trump, not the Ayatollah-led Islamic Republic of Iran?)
