Miles from the Mainstream
D. R. ZUKERMAN, proprietor
LPR at the Economy

FEBRUARY 22, 2007 --

An AMC movie theater's 10:20 A.M. showing of "Breach," was well-attended. Perhaps the $6 ticket price had something to do with the early Sunday turnout for this
movie about FBI turncoat Robert Hanssen.
(As it happens, LPR saw the film February 18, six years to the day Hanssen was nabbed.)

LPR wonders why magazines are willing to offer subscriptions at very low prices, yet keep the newsstand prices very high.
It is no surprise that gas prices are on the increase, yet again.

But has anyone noticed the price of Tropicana orange juice, a price so prohibitive, LPR wonders if it will lead to a scurvy epidemic.

And thank you James Cramer for indicating, recently, that media explanations for the daily ups and downs of the stock markets are nonsense.
