A Gershwin Masterpiece

About 32 years ago, LPR attended a Saturday morning Tanglewood rehearsal of Beethoven's Seventh Symphony, conducted by Leornard Bernstein. This was his final appearance as a conductor. He was ill at the time and passed away a few months later. LPR was amazed to witness how the music gave strengthened Maestro Bernstein.. He sat in a chair for most of the rehearsal, but, at various points during the last movement, the score lifted him from the chair -- music transcending physical illness. Khatia Buniatishvili for Super Bowl Halftime

New York Post columnist Phil Mushnick recently suggested that the NFL bring some class to the Super Bowl halftime show by having the great international pianist Khatia Buniatishvili perform Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue," with a symphony orchestra, at halftime of the game that LPR hopes will pit the Buffalo Bills against Tom Brady's team.

Here is a link of Ms. Buniatishvili playing Gershwin -- Commissioner Goodell, please take notice.
