LPR Random Observations

March 19, 2021 --

How the Bully Has Fallen…

The big news Monday, March 8, was that leading Democrats in New York State were pressuring Gov. Andrew Cuomo to resign over allegations of sexual harassment.  Is the public to conclude that the allegations about causing deaths by forcing nursing homes to take Covid-19 patients are...politically incorrect?  To think, just recently, Mr. Cuomo ruled state government as the dictator the left falsely denounced President  Trump as being.

Just wonderin'…

Has a media person asked Attorney General Merrick Garland if he thinks the proposed legislation to make Democrat presidential candidates guaranteed winners passes constitutional muster?  After all, he has said he represents the people, not President Biden.  At least this legislation to transform the USA into a totalitarian oligarchy makes clear what The New York Pravda had in mind when it said, in that August 21, 2016 editorial -- "How Can America Recover From Donald Trump"-- that [after Trump loses] the toxic effects of Trumpism will have to be addressed.  Indeed so, by doing away with democracy -- just what the propaganda sheet falsely accused Donald Trump of aiming at.

More wonderin'…

Have people been polled as to whether they would regard it as unforgiveable if President Biden is suspended or removed per the 25th Amendment, because that would mean it is more likely than not that the Democrats foisted an unfit Biden on the public in the deep state's desperate -- and successful -- campaign to oust President Trump.   The result -- a President Kamala Harris whose unpopularity was proved by her early, December 3, 2020, drop-out.  As NBC News reported, at the time, her campaign "fizzled."  Rumors suggest that Susan Rice is e facto president. Would she remain de facto were Harris to slide into the presidency?

Still more wonderin'…

If the 25th Amendment is triggered, will it be to suspend or remove Mr. Biden from the presidency.  If he is merely suspended, does Ms. Harris stay as vice president but with the powers of the presidency?  If so, wouldn't the Senate be deadlocked 50-50, literally. If Ms. Harris is sworn-in as president, would she ask the Senate to approve Susan Rice as her veep?  Ms. Harris's husband, Douglas Emhoff is Jewish. The mother of his two children is reportedly mostly Swedish. The daughter Ella does not consider herself to be Jewish, perhaps because her mother wasn't.  Under Jewish law, religion follows the mother.  This likely would make the son, Cole, not Jewish, too.   Presently Emhoff, a lawyer, is the first second gentleman.  If his spouse becomes president, he would be the first first gentleman.  He is also the first spouse of a vice president to be Jewish  (as well as the first Jewish spouse of a vice president whose daughter -- and maybe son -- is not Jewish).  It might also be said that the veep and spouse form the first bi-racial couple to be second in line for the presidency.  (From where, LPR wonders, will the protests originate?)

Will a Republican member of the  Senate please explain:

How can H.R. 1 -- or the Bill to make the presidency the partisan fiefdom of the totalitarian Democrats -- pass the United States Senate without a filibuster, that is to say, how can this infamous measure get approved with Vice President Harris breaking a 50 - 50 tie?

The Trouble-Making Wall Street Journal...

,,,in its March 11 lead editorial, commented that congressional Republicans "are fighting each other rather than Democrats."   This from a paper that has been fighting Donald J. Trump softly, until November 3,  2020, more forcefully between November 4, 2020 and January 6, 2021, and rather ferociously since the media and the totalitarian Democrats falsely declared that a rampaging insurrection took place on  Capitol Hill on January 6.  In fact, what happened that January 6 was a melee that lasted but a few hours;  for rampaging insurrection consider, for one, the summer-long takeover of Portland, Oregon by Antifa and BLM-ers.  WSJ, March 11, continued its sniping at Citizen Trump with this remark: "The party is still preoccupied with Donald Trump, who is preoccupied with revenge against Republicans who don't bow to the Mar-a-Lago throne."  WRONG WSJ.  Citizen Trump is concerned about  Republicans who would rather join with Democrats in bringing down the former president as GOP leader than bringing down the party that is, to borrow from the title of this twisted editorial -- "The Progressive Steamroller"-- steamrolling the Constitution towards totalitarian government.

To borrow from Lincoln…

… a GOP house divided against itself cannot stand.  Accordingly, in not too many months,  LPR believes either Public Citizen Trump will no longer be Republican leader, or Sen. McConnell will retire from the senate.  LPR thinks Citizen Trump will continue to lead the GOP.  Also as successor to the late Rush Limbaugh?

Oklahoma 2017…

John Wilson's 2017 production of "Oklahoma!" is terrific. It is onYouTube.  (At Camps Wabigoon and Wahanda, in 1958, LPR played Ali Hakim in a counselors' production directed by the great Al Katz.) -- LPR looks forward to Maestro Wilson's "Kiss Me Kate" on YouTube soon.
