JULY
18, 2007 --
LPR cannot recall
the Central Park ticket lines of 2001 for "The Seagull" without
also calling to mind the tragedy of 9-11, 16 days after "The
Seagull" ended its extended run, August 26, 2001.
This was,
for LPR, a direct transition from exuberance to grief.
It was heartening to see the return of the line to the Delacorte
-- for LPR -- that our people will not be intimidated by our enemies.
LPR would ask all of our people to consider that we do have enemies
and to consider, also, that Walt Kelly, the Pogo cartoonist was wrong
to suggest that the enemy is us.
