LPR at Night

August 19, 2009 --

Thanks to Renata Lorenc (and welcome back to NYC, with your new baby), Poull Brien and Hillary Flower for inviting LPR to your recent events.

Renata held a fund-raiser for her short film, "Crumble" at Country Club, on West 14th, August 7.

Posted here is an image of Renata and friends, and one of the legendary Joe Franklin at the event.

Poull invited LPR to a music industry gathering, August 13, at Anchor, on Spring Street, just a block west of Hudson Street where, that evening, a movie was being filmed at a nearby bar.

LPR will not mention the film as the film company was not very pleasant to LPR, shooing the LPR camera away as LPR stood in the street a/k/a public thoroughfare.

(What next -- fines for walking without seat belt?)

Hillary invited LPR to her August 14 runway show at the Trump World Bar on First Avenue, diagonally across from the UN complex.

LPR arrived early to get images of the show's preppings (preppings, not preppies ) and a good thing, too.

As with the Country Club for Renata's event, Anchor for the music industry event, World Bar was packed for Hillary's show -- so packed that LPR had difficulty imaging (imaging, not imagining) the models and trained the camera's lens on persons closer by.

Pre-show images included catching Hillary
attended to by makeup stylist Alison Smith, photographing models doing cellphone photography, and designer Vivian Gee with a model wearing necklace by Vivian.

This was LPR's first visit to Country Club, Anchor, and World Bar. Chances are LPR will get to World Bar sooner than to the other venues. This is not to criticize Country Club or Anchor -- LPR has word of another fashion show at World Bar, August 21.

(btw--a question for Mayor Bloomberg, why is Park Avenue closed to cars from 11 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday (August 21-22, as it had been closed August 7-8, and 14-15? Doesn't have anything to do, somehow, with Park Avenuers being away those August weekends??)
