SEPTEMBER
26, 2006 --
One
oil trader was quoted in The New York Times, September 19, as saying
that high oil prices were caused by a "'fear premium'" of
ten to twenty dollars.
How about mandatory anti-anxiety medication for oil traders?
One of the 14 terrorists held in secret detention reportedly spilled the beans
after, among other things, the lives of his children were threatened. LPR recalls
seeing the same interrogation technique in a "24" episode last season.
Venezuela has sent nearly 200 baseball players to the major leagues, since
1939, including Hall of Famer Luis Aparicio,
Chicago White Sox shortstop; Bobby Abreu, now with the New York Yankees, and
more than 25 all stars.
Thailand's prime minister, Thaksin Shinawatra was ousted in a coup while he
was attending the session of the UN General Assembly. Who says the UN serves
no useful purpose?

LPR has no doubt
at all that cries of "intimidation of the press", "chilling
effect on free speech,"" Smirkgate," would fill the
editorial and op-ed columns if Tom Delay spoke to NBC's Tim Russert
the
way Bill Clinton spoke to Chris Wallace of Fox News.
LPR would not be surprised if we learn that the former president's verbal assault
on Chris Wallace was not spontaneous.
LPR wonders if anyone who believes the Bush administration is behind 9/11 also
believes that Vince Foster did not commit
suicide.
