The Last Game

SEPTEMBER 30, 2008 --

LPR was outside Yankee Stadium, September 21 when the Yankees played the Baltimore Orioles in the last game at Yankee Stadium.

The Yankees won the game and then stayed on the field, cheering the fans who cheered them as the song "New York, New York" was played many many times over the public address system. The final song played was "Goodnight, Sweetheart."

There will be no more games played at Yankee Stadium because for the first time since 1993, the Yankees did not qualify for the post-season playoffs.

LPR has heard that a special commemoration, to include Billy Crystal and Paul Simon, will be held at the ballpark on November 9.

LPR also notes that Joe Torre, dismissed last year as Yankee manager has taken the Los Angeles Dodgers into the National League playoffs.

How long will Yankee Stadium I remain standing?

Will traffic ease in 2009?

After the game was over
After the game was won,
The Yankees took the field one last time
Their playing days here now were done....
