Agreed, Les Miserables has a marvelous score, but..... Dep't
February 5, 2023 -- There's no more charming song, (Jules Styne -- music; Sammy Cahn -- lyrics _ in the entire Broadway musical repertoire than this one, sung here by James Macauley and Nanette Frabray, from the original (1947) cast album of "High Button Shoes", starring Phil Silvers (later Sgt. Bilko on tv), book by Stephen Longstreet and George Abbott. (LPR calls on the impresario of impresarios, Cameron Mackintosh, to establish the Mackintosh Broadway Musical Repertory Theater. to keep shows like High Button Shoes alive.) |
