A Party Incapable of Stirring a Breeze; Another Party That Moves in Lockstep

May 19, 2022 --

A New York Times story, May 15, on the president's plans to anticipate serious GOP oversight, if Republicans win House and Senate majorities next November, ended with a curious remark about House Republican leader KevinMcCarthy, noting that after the events of January 6, 2021 he repotedly wanted President Trump to resign, to have "flipped to embracing him...." The article ended with the assertion that Mr. McCarthy "has a history of bending to his party's winds."

LPR would disagree, with the observation that the House Republican caucus seems incapable of stirring a breeze, let alone a wind. On the other hand, and to change the metaphor, who would deny that House Democrats move in lockstep to the tomtom beat pounded by Nancy Pelosi?
