“[T]he innovator has enemies in all those who are doing well under the old order….”

(Machiavelli, “The Prince,” Chapter 6, translated by Wayne A. Rebhorn.)

December 19, 2016 --

LPR believes that Machiavelli provides the answer to all the post-election hubbub raised by the Trump Resistance. It’s just the fury of the old order desperate to maintain its power, wealth and perks. Will the old order – that is to say, the ruling aggrandizers – prevail? It all depends on The People. Will The People stay on the sidelines? Will they eventually back the old order? Or will The People rally in support of Donald J. Trump?

LPR has a good idea that the leftists challenging the legitimacy of Trump’s election would very much like President Obama to issue an executive order nullifying the November 8 elections in all aspects – including the elections for House, Senate, and state offices, as well as the presidency. Does President Obama have the constitutional authority to cancel the elections? LPS is “highly confident” the “powerful and ingenious minds” at The New York Times could come up with arguments to support an anti-Trump coup. The arguments would, of course, demonstrate that the authoritarian left – as suggested by John Batchelor and Prof. Stephen F. Cohen on the John Batchelor [Radio] Show, December 13, – are as capable as rightwingers from the 1950’s in resorting to witchhunts, for power-grabbing purpose.

LPR recommends the Tuesday night Batchelor-Cohen discussions as informational antidote to the old order propaganda disseminated by the media. Prof. Cohen, December 13, had the temerity, yes, the temerity, to call out Sen. John McCain – along with State Department officials like V. Nuland, for meddling in Ukraine – as of course the senator did, telling a throng of protesters in Kiev, December 2013, what their sovereignty and destiny were all about: turning towards Europe and away from Russia.

Today, McCain demands a probe of Russian intrusion into our presidential election. Does the senator have evidence, for example, that Russian legislators addressed a Trump rally – as he and Connecticut’s Sen. Chris Murphy addressed protesters in Kiev, three years ago? LPR here calls for a probe of American involvement in the Ukraine Crisis, now in its fourth year.

LPR has a theory about the loathing leftists have for Russia’s President V. Putin: they have determined that Putin is no Communist. If they thought otherwise, they would have embraced him as they embraced the now-deceased Fidel Castro, Cuba’s Communist caudillo. Is there any doubt leftists would like to see Putin overthrown? Is there any doubt leftists would like to keep Donald J. Trump from becoming president? Is there any doubt that should Mr. Trump be inaugurated, the left will devote its political efforts to his removal from office, the sooner the better?

Machiavelli’s observation on the struggle between the old and the new orders goes on to note that the defenders of the “innovator” are “only lukewarm” in their support until they are convinced that he will succeed in his efforts to supplant the old order. LPR infers that if Donald J. Trump succeeds as president, big changes are in store for the Democrat Party. And if Trump fails, it will be more of the old “ambitious sacrifice of the many to the aggrandizement of the few.”
