The 82nd Annual
Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

DECEMBER 9, 2008 --

This year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was held in glorious fall weather: deep blue sky, bright sun, chilly but not uncomfortably cold.

Hundreds of thousands (perhaps more) of spectators of all ages lined the two mile parade route and glowed as they watched, waved at, photographed and applauded thousands of parade participants , including 10 bands, 28 floats, 13 giant balloons, along with smaller balloons (including Uncle Sam), a coterie of celebrities, 900 clowns marching down Central Park West to Broadway, at Columbus Circle, and then down Broadway to Macy's on Herald Square at 34th Street.

This was the Macy's 82nd Thanksgiving Day Parade and it took place as Macy's celebrates its 150th anniversary.

LPR presents images of the parade in two installments. The images in this posting show some of the people who viewed the parade from Central Park West apartment buildings, from stands, from the sidewalks and side streets along the parade route.

LPR visitors will also seem some images of parade units before and during the parade -- along with two more images of Miley Cyrus to add to the image of Ms. Cyrus posted last LPR.

LPR believes there is a lesson to be learned from these images. Please see for yourself.
