Macy's 79th Thanksgiving Day Parade -- Part 2

DECEMBER 4, 2005 --

The opening phase of this parade takes place on Wednesday afternoon, when the giant balloons are inflated.

LPR got to the parade staging area after
the balloons were inflated, but caught sight of a few, including Charlie Brown.

LPR got to the parade early enough, Thanksgiving morning, to see several balloons still resting.

The Macy's Parade attracts the country's top marching bands, celebrities, and floats. But it is the balloons, LPR believes, that provide special delight for the spectators -- of all ages.

New to the Parade in 2005 - Scooby Doo.

Scooby-Doo, a new balloon was the first to join the parade. LPR noticed, as Barney went by, that his left foot seemed to have a leak. Apparently Barney completed the parade without incident.

Other new balloons include Dora the Explorer and "healthy" Mr. Potato Head.

LPR hopes that clicksters in Stockholm,
as well as San Francisco, Paris as well as Philadelphia, and all the other cities, states and countries that click to LPR will enjoy these photos of many of the balloons of the 2005 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
