LPR Recommends the Following Links
to two Mahler Masterpieces

June 5, 2022 --

Gustavo Dudamel conducting the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra (made up of young musicians from Venezuela -- Dudamel is a native of Venezuela) in Mahler's Second Symphony, a marvelous performance. at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Maestro Dudamel, in addition to leading the Simon Bolivar young musicians, is music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Paris Opera.

Andres Orozco-Estrada, conducting the Frankfurt Radio Symphony in Mahler's Third, a magnificent performance.

Maestro Orozoco-Estrada just completed eight years with the Houston Symphony Orchestra.

Orozo-Estrada is a native of Colombia.

LPR Recommends...

LPR strongly recommends that visitors click this link to Orozco-Estrada conducting the Frankffurt Radio Symphony in a performance of Brahm's Symphony No. 1 in C minor. This magnificent work has no title in the manner of, say, Mahler's Titan or Resurrection Symphonies. If this work, performed so masterly by Orozo- Estrada leading the Frankfurt orchestra, were to have a title, it should, LPR believes, be Brahms' Majestic Symphony.
