Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc:
Make Way for the Governor

APRIL 24, 2007 --

Jim McGreevey quits as New Jersey governor and is succeeded by Richard Codey who is told, basically, by
Senator Corzine to get out of the way.

Don Imus insults the members of the Rutgers University women's basketball team and a meeting between the team
and Imus is scheduled at the governor's mansion.

Rushing to get to the meeting, Gov. Corzine apparently orders cars to get out of his way. One driver reportedly tries to comply, but can't, a second vehicle grazes the governor's SUV and the SUV crashes into a median divider, with the
governor suffering serious injuries.

The Rutgers-Imus meeting goes on without the governor.

Reports about the failure of the governor to click his seatbelt and of the excessive speed of his car then circulate.

Do these reports represent full disclosure--or leaks?

Is this all about Imus, the Rutgers women's basketball team --- or
Governor Corzine?

Would the governor have been racing to the mansion had Imus not mentioned Rutgers, but, say, the University of Tennessee team which defeated Rutgers to win the NCAA Women's Division I
basketball championship?

Just one other thing. The state capital of New Jersey is Trenton. The governor's mansion is located in Princeton. Isn't this an indication of disrespect to Trenton?
