LPR's Hope for Change as Campaign Suggestion for Senator McCain

MARCH 2, 2008 --

Indications are that Senator John McCain, the likely Republican presidential candidate at this time, will be the underdog in a race against Senator Barack Obama as Democratic candidate.

It is to be expected that Senator Obama's campaign will employ the terms "hope" and "change" to indicate youthful vigor, emphasizing the more than 20 years' age difference between the senators.

LPR continues to hope that a presidential candidate will yet discover the relevance of the "common good" message in Federalist 57, a message that points to renewal of our Founding spirit as the best means for change, today.

LPR commends the advice set forth in Federalist 57 to Senator McCain.  How better to unify the country than by starting out with a call for unity of purpose between leaders and people and in the context of renewing our Founding legacy?
