The media, as is to be expected, generally ignored the revelation from Judicial Watch that the IRS emails targeting conservative groups for special scrutiny were not really destroyed because the federal government has a back-up system to guard against destruction of government emails. This means, of course, that previous IRS assurances and regrets that the emails had been lost for all time are ... inoperative.

LPR eagerly awaits the Rep. E. Cummings counter-accusation on this development. John Fund, on the John Batchelor radio show warned that if the IRS gets away targeting conservatives, any future president will set the IRS against political enemies.

LPR disagrees. No Republican president would ever be permitted to use the IRS against Democrat organizations. It takes two to make a political scandal: accuser plus media.The media would shout "Scandal" and not let up until the Republican president apologized or was impeached. With a Democrat in the White House, the media looks the other way, as current reality proves.
