Ms. Vieira, per the Lowry February 11 column, referred to the end of Soviet communism -- during a moment in the opening ceremony at the Wnter Olympics in Sochi -- as "'the end of the 20th century dream'" and "'a bittersweet moment.'"

Perhaps Ms. Vieira, then, is cheered at news that the middle class in the U.S. is disappearing (the communists wiped out the middle class in the Soviet Union) and would happily regard setting up of U.S. gulags as job opportunities for construction workers.
