Three years
ago, the outdoor archery world championships -- recurve and
compound --were held in New York City. The opening rounds were
held in Van Cortlandt Park ion the Bronx and the finals were
held in Central Park.
The men's winner in the recurve, July 2003, was Italy's Michele Frangilli. This
is one of the many photos I took of that tournament -- Mr. Frangilli, in Central
Park, on his way to the men's recurve title.
The skill of the competitors, from all over the globe (including Iraq) was quite
remarkable --and this seems, still, to be more a sport than a business. None
of my photos appeared in media outlets. But now there is LPR …
